Android 4.0 long-awaited

Yeah, in one of the latest posts I’ve written that Ice Cream Sandwich (the next version of Android) had to be announced on the 11st of this month (three days ago), but is never been so because few days after the release of the famous teaser released by Samsung, the two companies (Samsung and Google) has decided that this is not a good time for this announcement. This is the official statement:

“Samsung and Google have decided to postpone the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event during the CTIA in San Diego, previously scheduled for Oct. 11.

Under the current circumstances, both parties have agreed that this is not the appropriate time for the announcement of a new product. We would ask for the understanding of our clients and media for any inconvenience caused. We will announce a new date and venue in due course.”

Only yesterday finally another statement is been sent, the presentation of ICS is confirmed for the 19th of this month in Hong Kong during the AsiaD.

Google-Samsung event

As you can see from the picture above (it’s the invite for the event) it starts at the 10:00 AM in local time (GMT+8), so if I want to see the live streaming of the announcement from Italy I have to wake up at the 4 o’clock… I’m seriously thinking on…

Another big news come from ICS world, especially from the Android headquarter, take a look:

Then nothing remains but to set the alarm…

  • CA (EDT, GMT-4) – 19:00 (7:00 P.M.), 18/10
  • NY (EDT, GMT-4) – 22:00 (10:00 P.M.), 18/10
  • Italy (GMT+2) – 04:00 (4:00 A.M.), 19/10
  • Hong Kong (GMT+8) – 04:00 (4:00 A.M.), 19/10

…and then to jump here!
